James J. McKeogh

Jim founded The McKeogh Company in 1999 and retired in December 2024. During his extensive career, he was a proud to serve the single-employer and multi-employer benefits community as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

Jim designed retirement programs for major corporations and multiemployer plans alike. He performed asset-liability studies and helped implement dedicated bond portfolios for several of his clients. Jim was a frequent speaker on multiemployer plan topics at the Enrolled Actuaries Meetings, the Society of Actuaries Meetings, the Conference of Consulting Actuaries Annual Meetings and the IFEBP Meetings. He was the founding chairperson of the American Academy of Actuaries Task Force for Multiemployer Plans.

Jim has a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from LaSalle University and a Master of Arts degree in mathematics from Villanova University.  He started his career teaching high school mathematics.  In 1975, Jim joined The Wyatt Company.  He was the Managing Consultant of Wyatt’s Philadelphia office from 1989 to 1995.  He left Wyatt in 1995 to join Towers Perrin where he was employed until 1999.
